For everything from recruitment, contracts, compliance with minimum standards legislation, workplace audits and risk assessments, accommodation, workplace policies, occupational health & safety, harassment & other workplace investigations, drug testing, obligations on buying or selling a business, lay-offs, terminations, wrongful dismissal litigation, we can help. We also regularly design and deliver training on a variety of human resources topics.
We work with our clients to tactically and strategically respond to union organizing attempts and certification applications. In unionized workplaces, we provide guidance on how to administer collective agreements, negotiate at the collective bargaining table and represent our clients at grievance arbitrations. We advise on compliance with labour statues regarding sale of a business, related employer, unfair labour practices and building services providers.
We advise employers on how to prevent and address issues of discrimination, harassment and accommodation in the workplace. We can assist in managing risk by drafting and implementing anti-harassment policies and can also train management and employees on their obligations. We advise on the development of diversity and inclusion programs.
We are seasoned advisors to hospitals on labour and employment issues in Ontario. We understand the legislative and regulatory framework applicable to healthcare. We are experienced in navigating amalgamations and restructuring under the Public Sector Labour Relations Transition Act. We have advised on every version of compensation restraint legislation since Bill 16 in 2012.
