What motivated me to make labour and employment law the focus of my practice is my love for people and passion for fostering long-lasting relationships. I strongly believe that the backbone of every organization is its employees and I want to work with companies and organizations to help them build and maintain safe and nurturing work environments. This proactive approach has allowed me to help companies reduce employer/employee conflict and retain their best employees.
After completing my Master of Laws at Dalhousie University in Halifax, I relocated to Toronto and worked as a sole practitioner advising small-to-medium-sized organizations of their obligations under the Ontario Employment Standards Act and the Human Rights Code.
I am currently a council member of the Ontario Bar Association and a Member-at-Large with the Canadian Bar Association’s Labour and Employment Law section. My diverse background, strong litigation style, and exceptional negotiation skills, along with my proven record of leadership and trust make me an ideal lawyer for any labour and employment law issue.
In my spare time, I enjoy keeping active by rollerblading, traveling, camping, and painting.
